The Shanghai Education Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences Recruiting English Teachers (native speakers)for the Coming 2007-2008 Academic Year The Shanghai Education center Chinese Academy of Sciences was established in 1999, with the approval of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It lies in the southwest area of Shanghai, where many science research agencies, universities and science and technology enterprises are situated. The Center is the postgraduate training center for the CAS Shanghai Branch, mainly in charge of the teaching of the postgraduate courses for the institutes of the CAS Shanghai Branch. The Center boasts a staff of high teaching quality, with in all over 100 part-time and full-time teachers, most of whom are professors and associate professors. Every year, one or two English teaching experts are invited to meet the high teaching demand here. Our requirements for the teaching experts are as follows: 1. favoring the communist People’s Republic of China; abide by our national and local laws and regulations 2. with good health conditions; 3.under the age of 60 4. with a master’s degree of art and some teaching of English as a foreign language 5. a native speaker of English Our offer will be— 1. a monthly salary between 3500-5000 yuan RMB; 2. round-trip ticket for a yearly international travel; 3. 3，000 yuan RMB as the travel expense inside China every winter vacation; 4. an apartment during the course of teaching. The workload will be as follows: 1. usually one or two academy years; 2. mainly teaching the English courses (speaking) for Ph.D. postgraduate students; 3. 12 hours of teaching every week.
